Kirsten Reimer, MLIS, is the Head of Documentation at the DIGNITY Documentation Center and Library at DIGNITY – Danish Institute Against Torture in Copenhagen, Denmark. For more than two decades she has collected, registered and disseminated information and literature on the subjects of torture, organized violence and traumatized refugees. During this period many users of different professional background have used her expertise and received training on how to find and obtain information material within the topics covered by the documentation center and library.
In 2011-2013 she conducted a project on the terminology within the anti-torture movement, and how this terminology was perceived within different user groups. Field work was conducted in Europe, USA and Asia and the results of the project came into publication through her Master thesis in 2013. Besides her expertise within library and information science, she has completed courses within strategic management, management of change and project management.
She has been a member of the European Coordination Committee for Human Rights Documentation (ECCHRD) since 1999, member of Management Forum for Special- and research Libraries in Denmark (LSF) since 2013 and Co-founder of the Nordic Network for Human Rights Information specialists and Documentalists from 2014.
